Wild Food CSA (Community Supported Abundance)

Participate in a Wild Food CSA this season over 11 weeks and learn about the diverse abundance of food and medicine right out our back doors. Increase your abilities and knowledge to sustain and thrive from our local region. We welcome you to celebrate the diversity of your seasonal harvest with us!

June 16th - August 25th, 2020
Suggested Donation  $444
Weekly Tuesdays pick up after 1:00pm
at Turtle Lake Refuge in town 848 East 3rd Ave in Durango

Please join this educational and delicious wild food offering! A wild CSA (Community Supported Abundance) is a fantastic opportunity to learn through experience how to embrace the wild foods of our area into your daily practice. Once a week, each Tuesday anytime after 1:00pm, a wild food goodie bag will be available for you to pick up and enjoy over the week. Inside your bag you will discover all kinds of wild edible greens, flowers, roots, berries, juices, prepared foods, and treats to explore. Each weekly bag comes with a newsletter describing all the wild foods and their uses, recipes and benefits. This wild food CSA encourages you to be an experiential student of the wild. Nature is our greatest teacher of personal well being and can lead us into a deeper connection to health. In addition to the weekly bag of food, there will be four optional wild plant identification and preparation classes through out the 11 weeks.

Suggested Donation for the 11 weeks CSA (and 4 wild food classes) - $444

Class Schedule: June 16th 3pm - 4:30pm, July 7th from 3pm - 4:30pm, July 28th 3pm - 4:30pm, August 18th 3pm - 4:30pm.

Why a Wild Food CSA?

Wild foods are the super foods of our region. They know how to survive in our local climate with the natural rainfall, soil and minerals from where we live. They grow in abundance year after year with little effort on our part. This makes them the most reliable and secure source of food and medicine available to us. Once you know who they are and how we work with them, you will have the knowledge to thrive in these changing times. This CSA is both a local food and an educational CSA. Our hope is to support our community in being empowered to embody optimal health, both for ourselves and for the earth. Join us in this mission! A maximum of 10 of these CSA's are available each season. The CSA program begins in June and runs through September.
